A whole host of single 30 something’s have recently caught my attention. Men and Women. Accomplished. Polished. Remarkably conversational. Pleasant people.
The only problem with any of them that I could see was that they were willingly talking about their struggles in finding a significant other to ME, someone they barely knew. Not to bash anyone for these recent events, but I became increasingly interested in the topic and reciprocated it by simply asking these people: “Why?” The responses were nailed all the way down to people searching on what I would call the last resort: Dating websites. I was appalled to hear that all of these remarkable 30s had given up on the whole traditional method of randomly meeting true love. So as this pondered in my mind, my dear friend Katie’s alter ego, Brandy Alexander spoke to the topic on her blog from a different light! She simply said, “You deserve a real date.” Her post mentions the internet phenomenon that we are all so attached to, hence stalking people! I couldn’t agree more with Miss Brandy Alexander’s Statement: “Google, Facebook, Twitter and yes, Linked In, are excellent tools to make sure your prospective date isn't married/a serial killer/repulsive, BUT you have to stop there. Investing too much time in analyzing someone's online persona is guaranteed to mess with whatever might develop when you actually spend time with that person. You start to rule him out because of what, he wore a man tank in 2004?” So here’s my conclusion on this matter! I pray you like it, but if not maybe you’ll learn your lesson. All things happen for a reason. If you met him at the club, so what?! If you met her at the bar drinking alone, so what? If you bumped into she or he with four kids at the grocery store, so what?! At least it was coincidental and REAL. You had no preconceived notions and no ruined plans. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and you should take yourself and all of your treasures and let a real date just happen! You deserve it.
