Let's go through your correspondence checklist together. I'd like to help you figure out exactly what and from who is the most sentimental. So here goes. You wake up in the morning, and you immediately start checking your social sites. Hmmm... A few likes, comments and a little bit of breaking news. Next, you read and possibly respond to a few text messages, that is if you don't get too distracted by some other happening on your living and breathing smart phone. After this, you begin sifting through your email only to find bill reminders, sale advertisements that you have no money for, and then of course spunky spam and jacked up junk mail! You are already over it and your day has more than likely just begun. You go through your day with all of this on your mind, and more than likely you've forgotten a good percentage of the important stuff within your correspondence that you actually needed to do such as pay bills or sign up for hot yoga or so on. But, here comes the good part. The day isn't over yet. You've still got to go home and check the mail. Of course bills await, sales papers and other random mail, but then you see a special envelope addressed to you from an anonymous admirer or a known loved one. At this point, the tingles of entitlement, gratitude and curiousity have come. You open it, and whatever it says just brightens the day. Rather it's a just thinking about you card, a get well soon card or a happy birthday card, it works! It pulls much more excitement from you then any other piece of correspondence you've read all day! So, why is this?! People, it's because everyone loves to be thought of and to be shown love through the simple effort of sending a card or writing a letter! It is time that you get to it! Start brightening some ones day with just a few words in 2014. Buy some stationary. Send a journal back and forth between you and your sweetie. Send a birthday card to your mother-in-law. Do what you have to do to show someone that they matter. I resolve to send mail this year! How about you?!
