I have one criteria for those that I follow on Instagram and that is imperfection! This is because I'm wildly intrigued by their sharing of quotes, visual messaging of high-level issues, unimaginable ventures and purely bizarre aura that they are going to live their lives freely. It simply excited me.
My favorite instagrams are those that tell stories of life long friendships without directly saying so. Or perhaps, those that allow you to feel their passionate love stories through imagery without the annoying caption of "me and my man against the world." After all, who really is trying to oppose you Bonnie and Clyde? Don't you know the story? The police will catch you dead in your tracks. So, please before they get you, let Instagram stop you tonight... Be who you are... Imperfect. Human. you'll find your presence appreciated and fulfilling. Let Instagram stop you tonight because they sure did let Kim Kardashian know that she was out of line as a mother and as a wife to post what my grandmother always calls, "possible". Moreover, Instagram sure did show us how the class, bliss and purity of Solange's unique marital union achieved 100% praise through its authenticity! Instagram taught us last night, there's no need to portray perfect to be perceived as perfect. There was something angelic about the non-traditionalism of Solange's wedding photos that confirmed my ideas that we should all share who we REALLY are on Instagram. It's a social medium to make the choice to show who you are despite all the filters and hashtags, amongst millions of others all vying for the same gratification. I hope you walk away from this blog more open minded and unoffended. It is in no way attempting to antagonize anyone. Its just mere observations of Instagram. Carry on posting whatever you please, I'm just telling you what I like to see! Let me know your thoughts.
