I'm definitely a Cosmo girl!  I get the magazines and read all of the blogs.  The one today really got me thinking so I've decided to share it with you.  If you watched the Grammy's on Sunday night, you are still on your Beyonce high just like the rest us, but who would've thought this one girl would take it so far as to dress like Beyonce to work!  I got a kick out of how bold and fabulous she was.  I'm inspired to try this bold act.

If I could, I would

When looking for the perfect career, we often seek advice from gurus that look like their lives are on top of the world. They're driving luxury cars, wearing hundred dollar suits, driving their kids to piano lessons and hiding behind their white picket fenses until the sunrises and they're back at it!   Meanwhile, I think these individuals are just dying to break out of their stuffy costumes and live a little. Don't you think? So when I ran across this E-card I couldn't help, but to relate. Everyone tells us how we are supposed to be, but in all reality what if we really were they way they told us to be! I know one thing for sure, if I could, I would! So here's my advice to you: let go, live and let people live. I posted this same E-card on Instagram and one of my friends commented! I got a good laugh out of it! Let me know your thoughts!

the Sassy 60 Something

I want to talk to all of the millennial in this post.  I simply want to say that we've got a life worth living.  I, recently, attended my mother's best friends Sassy 60th Birthday party.  Just to give you a brief background, my mother and her friend have known each other since they were first graders.  This year, they both turn 60.  They are from a small rustic town in rural northwest Tennessee.   Today, Walmart is the only store that one can go to in the town where they are from, but that doesn't stop these sixty somethings from keeping up with the times.

They've traveled the world, experienced the big city life and the small circuit life.  They've had kids.  They've become grandmothers.  They've ended up in places that they never thought they would.  One of them has a famous daughter.  However, through it all they've remained friends and lived life vicariously through each other.  Attending a 60 somethings party was all I needed to do to confirm that you never know where you are going to end up, but through your years, you can share so much with the people you love.  So it may be a little weird to you, but I challenge you to attend a Sassy 60 party this year.  I promise you will learn a lot!

Song on January!

Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start
They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well that's fine by me

So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know? I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
I hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans
I wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game? made for everyone
And love is a prize

I didn't know I was lost

Think Before You Speak

I'm somebody who says whatever so this is definitely eye opening to me! So in 2014, don't judge a book by its cover and watch what you say! Prime Example.

Here is a little help just in case you woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, and Monday is kicking you down!

Your worst day is not as bad as someone else's. So put on your lipstick, stomp your feet, pray and do whatever you have to do to be sure that what you're going through turns into a Cinderella story!

Who doesn't love a good story?!

Visions of the New Year

Vision boards are nothing new, but definitely a task that should be done more often than not. Some people like to make one centralized board that entails everything that they envision for themselves. However, I think it's necessary to do vision boards for the different aspects of your life. This way, you can focus better on the goals that you want to achieve. It just breaks down the big picture a little better. For example, if you want to write a book, find words and pictures in magazines that help you describe everything you want that book to convey. Then, start writing. You'll find the vision board you made a source of inspiration and reason behind why you were writing the book anyway. So, today and everyday find a reason to put your vision down!

Fresh Face

In 2013, the Halloween face became the norm. Drawn on eye brows and makeup thick enough to cut with a knife became necessary for one to feel "put together." I'm a pageant girl so I completely understand. However, I leave much of the glitz and glam for the stage. I like a more neutral and relaxed face for everyday activity. Some days I go without makeup completely.

In 2014, I pray this Halloween face trend ends! I mean seriously, all of these ladies will look back on these silly pictures of themselves, and truly regret the the Lion King Broadway Show Face. It's like our parents looking back on photos of themselves with finger waves or mullets. Not cool, okay!!!!!!!!!!

I happen to love when I see celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Tyra Banks without makeup! I really love Doves campaigns to showcase what a woman really looks like! Curves, straight up and down and all.   It's time we take advantage of our flaws and show the world what amazing really is! I challenge you to go freely in 2014 with a fresh face!
