Ever watched the news and wondered if you really getting the full story or the true story for that matter? Perhaps the details were to baffling to believe. If you are anything like me, this happens all too often when you start your morning watching CNN.
Let’s begin with the headliner: Charles Ramsey! CNN refers to him as an instant internet star, and I can’t help but to burst into giggles as I think back to Antione Dodson’s hilarious warning years prior, “hide ya kids, hide ya wife, cuz they rappin’ errbody out here.” What a correlation between the two?! Both serious stories hosted by heroic figures turned comedic internet phenomenons’ just because of their demeanor. I struggle to hold my laughs at him. I’m sure many of you can agree. Next up: A Michael Jackson dancer-choreographer filed a claim against the MJ estate that states that the pop star did in fact molest him. This baffling claim comes after the alleged victim testified twice under oath in allegiance to “the king” that he, in fact, was not molested and nearly 4 years after Michael’s death. Last but not least: The relationship between the US and North Korea has been a rocky one. However, Dennis Rodman and the Supreme Leader, Kim Jong Un, seem to have gotten past the big picture. Via twitter, the former basketball star and peace guru, asked his dear friend “Kim” to “cut Kenneth Bae loose." According to CNN.com, Bae was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor after he was convicted of unspecified “hostile acts” against North Korea.” So here’s my conclusion on these table toppers:. It’s a serious matter that 3 women were kidnapped and not found until 10 years later, but the largest part of the story is the guy who found them whom has everyone’s heart rate thumping with laughs. It’s a serious matter that death precedes no peace because a dancer won’t let the “man in the mirror” rest. It’s a serious matter that a pierced basketball player has more international influence than a poised politician. I do not think it is the Media’s fault that these people or stories are portrayed they way they are.. I do believe that it is up to you and I to decipher the elements of the story, find its lineage to us, demand some truth, and lastly, take action.
