We all tend to follow amazing fitness experts and gurus on social media.  We debate with ourselves the give and take of a diet or a rigorous exercise routine to be just like those that we drool over on Instagram and Facebook.  We come to the conclusion that we'll make these choices based off of how we feel today or what not.  For me, when I'm having one of those days,  I like to go to my favorite Mexican restaurant and fill my stomach with chips and salsa and smoking, grilled chicken fajita meat.  I'd like to think that this is much healthier than making a trip to McDonalds, Sonic or even Taco Bell.  After a while of repeating this habit, I begun trying to figure out even better ways to cure this craving.  Then, I decided to make homemade salsa!  There is nothing like appeasing your food fetish with such a vital part of the food pyramid.  Did you know that women require 2 to 5 cups of vegetables each day?  Well, making my own homemade salsa forced me to eat clean, and not be in the vicinity of other tasty delights that would case me to cheat on my health!  Notice I said, health, not diet!  Not to mention, I'm for sure getting my daily intake of nutrients!  After all of these year trying to meet the infamous food pyramids requirements, I finally figured out a way to master the vegetable intake section.

Here are some way you can benefit from homemade salsa:

1. You finally have a go to healthy snack that is filling!
2. You are getting lots of Vitamin C!
3.  Eating fresh tomato salsa also boosts your intake of vitamin A. This nutrient plays an important role in your vision -- vitamin A in your retinas helps your eyes detect light even at low levels, allowing you to see at night. It also contributes to thyroid hormone function, aids in maintaining a strong immune system and plays a central role in fetal development.
4. Its low in calories!
5.  Its full of vitamins and minerals such as iron, magnesium, and potassium which help maintain healthy blood pressure!

So start today!  Become a Salsa Bosa'!

Below you'll find some pictures and a video of the way I make my homemade salsa! Hope you enjoy!
